Papa Craig

Craig Young

After 14 years of military service, I needed to find a way to support my daughters and myself. With years of experience as a professional musician, that path no longer aligned with my life as a single parent. My first job was as a manager at Chi-Chi’s Mexican Restaurant, which is where I met the love of my life Cyndi. I quickly found fulfillment in both my creative side and social life, connecting with the guests who visited regularly. Over the years, I have worked in every position in the restaurant industry including owning an award-winning Italian restaurant, finally retiring as a general manager from Olive Garden in 2022.

After retirement, I still felt the urge to stay creative. I began making cutting boards and cheeseboards which helped but missed cooking. With encouragement from employees, guests, and family, I decided to release my award-winning spice blends to the public. The name “Papa Craig’s” was inspired by a team member and my grandchildren, and the brand was born.

We launched Papa Craig’s in June 2024, and after a successful first season, we look forward to expanding in 2025 and introducing our brand to more customers and farmer’s markets. I truly enjoy spending my time at the farmers market meeting new visitors, as well as visiting with our regulars and fellow vendors. In January 2025, my wife retired and has now joined in helping me bring Papa Craig’s to you.

In 2025 we will begin giving 10% of all proceeds from the sales of Papa Craig’s Spice blends and seasonings to disabled veterans.
